Gerald Corey earned his doctorate in counseling at the University of Southern California.
He is a Professor Emeritus of Human Services at California State University at Fullerton. As a professor, he’s taught undergraduate and graduate courses in different topics related to counseling and psychotherapy, including group counseling, ethics in counseling, and theory and practice of counseling.

Gerald Corey – Personal life
Gerald Corey is married to Marianne Schneider Corey, a marriage and family therapist. The two have been married since 1964. He likes traveling, cycling, and hiking in the mountains. He owns a 1931 Model A Ford. Gerald and Marianne have two adult daughters, Heidi and Cindy; two granddaughters, Kyla and Keegan; and one grandson, named Corey.
